Closure of Quay Theatre due to COVID-19 Pandemic
Hello all - we hope you are all keeping as safe as possible in these troubling times.
We are currently unable to take phone calls or open the building.
It is with regret but for obvious reasons that due to the Coronavirus pandemic and following government guidelines, we have to announce that we have extended the closure of the theatre to events until mid-February 2021. All ticket-holders for events up until the end of this period will be contacted with their options, though please be aware that this may take some time. Scheduled acts will also be contacted to look at possible rescheduling.
The staff of The Quay are working in the background to make all the changes necessary to enable re-opening as soon as we are able and we are expecting a reduced Box Office service to be available for walk-ins at the end of January 2021. Phone-lines should, if all goes to plan, be open slightly earlier than this.
You will all be aware that this is an extremely precarious time for all leisure venues and theatres in particular, due to the very nature of their construct. We are having to think of new ways we may be able to support live entertainment even for when we do re-open, if social distancing is in place. The most important aspect is, of course, the safety of our customers, staff, volunteers, acts and the wider community in general. We will ensure that whatever the future holds, this will be of paramount concern.
We thank you so much for your continued support and we will be in touch in the near future with ideas involving the community in ways they may be able to help keep this important Sudbury asset viable and ready to offer its services once again as soon as possible.
In the meantime, stay safe one and all!
